The pommel of this dagger is in nice condition

and probably at one point had a wire wrapping over the wood

with no plugged touch or side bolster

This is a genuine Federal issue Pattern 1861 leather cartridge box for . 58 caliber ammunition. Features an original National Guard "NG" brass plate to the flap. Outer flap has surface wear and is stiff. Interior flap is in good condition but stiff. The inside of the otuer flap appears be be named and ink stamped Co. B. 3 RG. Neither tin is present but the implement pocket retains it shape but the reverse stitching
